Chika ibe and Oboli set to premier new films

Nollywood actress, Chika Ike, may have added one more feather to her cap of achievements on the lighted screen with the production of her first feature film.
The actress, who recently graduated from the New York Film Academy in the United States, formally joins the growing rank of nouveau film producers in Nollywood when the new movie, titled ‘Miss Teacher’, premieres on Friday, September 25, 2015.
Directed by Serah Donald Onyeachor, the film is a romantic drama that explores the themes of love, success and self-confidence. It tells the story of Nwanne, a selfless and compassionate lady who due to a sad event finds herself in a community where there is no development.

Rather than dwell on her past, Nwanne decides to accept her fate and finds a teaching job in the community school where she teaches and encourages her students to embrace and overcome their struggles. However, when a handsome young man shows up in the picture, the intrigues and betrayal that follows makes her decide the path she must take to overcome all odds.
Chika plays the lead role in the movie, which also stars Liz Benson, Joseph Benjamin and two-time African Movie Academy Awards nominee Chika Ike. It has been hailed by pundits as an exemplary, highly motivating and visually refreshing film.
Also, a movie by fellow actress Omoni Oboli, titled ‘The First Lady, will be showing in cinemas across the country from October 1 after the premiere at the Silverbird Galleria in Victoria Island, Lagos.
‘The First Lady’ is the story of a girl named Michelle (Omoni Oboli) who became a prostitute for her guy named Obama (Alex Ekubo), she became so engrossed in it until she met a man she loved named Kelechi (Joseph Benjamin and Chinedu Ikedieze). The events that surround their love is intriguing. One of the interesting parts of the movie is seeing Chinedu Ikedieze and Joseph Benjamin played the same role; the transition between the diminutive Chinedu Ikedieze and obviously tall Joseph Benjamin was artistically done and earned the commendation of few critics who have seen the movie.
It is a movie about love, anger, fear, suspicion, hatred, vengeance and betrayal of trust, that is also full of suspense and humour.
Notable Nollywood stars, such as Alex Ekubo, Chinedu Ikedieze, Joseph Benjamin, Udoka Oyeka, Yvonne Jegede, Tony Monjaro, among others, starred in the movie, which is written, directed and produced by Oboli herself.
Also commenting on the movie, Ikedieze says,“I really wanted to be a part of this movie, when I saw the script, I was eager to be a part of this movie. ‘The first lady’ is not just like other movies because it is full of moral lessons. It is definitely a movie that everyone should see.”
